Bulgaria: Filkab wants to invest in new SPP near Plovdiv

Solar power plant near Plovdiv will have an installed capacity of 15 MW. Bulgarian electrical equipment supplier Filkab is planning to invest some 9 million euros in the construction of SPP.

CEO of Filkab Atanas Tanchev said that works on the project are still at very early stage, but the construction will most likely start in 2021. Filkab is considering two ways of financing the project: through a loan or through attracting a partner willing to invest in RES electricity production. Tanchev added that the electricity produced by the plant will be sold in the free market.

Filkab is specialized in the supply, distribution and trade in electrical equipment such as cables and wires, cable fittings and accessories, electrical and automation devices, lighting and electrical materials. The company is also active in the delivery of equipment for renewable energy installations through its unit Filkab Solar.
