Bosnia and Herzegovina: RS Government grants concessions for two solar power projects near Trebinje and Ljubinje

The Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS) has awarded two concessions for the development of solar power plants near Trebinje and Ljubinje, with a total installed capacity of 8 MW and 102.72 MW, respectively.

The Cicevo solar power plant, located 12 kilometers south of Trebinje, will have an installed capacity of 8 MW and is projected to generate 11.43 GWh of electricity annually. The construction site, covering 10.49 hectares, is privately owned. The estimated cost of the project is 5.6 million euros, and the one-time concession fee stands at approximately 160,000 euros. The 50-year concession has been granted to the local company Modul Energy.

The Bancici solar power plant, with an installed capacity of 102.72 MW, will generate around 144.57 GWh of electricity annually. The designated site, located in Bancici, Ljubinje municipality, spans 130 hectares and is also privately owned. The project is valued at 79 million euros, and the one-time concession fee is approximately 380,000 euros. A usage fee of 0.0027 euros per kWh of electricity generated will also be applied. The 50-year concession for this project has been awarded to the local company KH Alter Energy. The concession agreement is expected to be signed by the end of February, following the payment of the one-time concession fee.
