Bosnia and Herzegovina: Ivovik wind farm receives electricity license, set to generate 259 GWh annually

The Energy Regulatory Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) has officially granted an electricity production license to the 84 MW Ivovik wind farm. With an expected annual electricity generation of around 259 GWh, the wind farm will significantly contribute to the country’s renewable energy capacity.

Ivovik Wind Power, a Luxembourg-based company, owns 61% of the project, having acquired it from Sinohydro, a subsidiary of China’s Powerchina Resources, in 2022. The remaining 39% is held by Hong Kong-based CNTIC Capital.

As the largest renewable energy project in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), the Ivovik wind farm represents an investment of approximately 130 million euros. Built by China National Technical Import & Export Corporation in collaboration with Powerchina Resources, the facility began trial operations last month, marking a major milestone in FBiH’s energy transition.
