Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gas price in FBiH will increase by 23.3 %

Gas price in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) will increase by 23.3 % after Russian Gazprom requested the raise from the main gas importer Energoinvest.

Federal Minister of Energy, Industry and Miming Nermin Dzindic said that the Federal Government has adopted the information on the increase of natural gas price in the third quarter of 2022, adding that the increase was made at Energoinvest’s request.

The request from Energoinvest states that the wholesale price of natural gas for the third quarter of 2022 for distribution companies should be increased from current 414 to 511 euros per cubic meter, without VAT. The company requested the increase as it is not possible to cover the gas purchase price with current wholesale prices.

Bosnia and Herzegovine receives Russian natural gas via TurkStream since last year, after Energoinvest unilaterally terminated the contract with FGSZ, which is why the Hungarian company is suing FBiH for 21 million euros in damages.
