Bosnia and Herzegovina, Electricity production at RiTE Ugljevik stable

Coalmine and thermal power plant (RiTE) Ugljevik, a subsidiary of state-owned power utility ERS, said that it has generated a total of 147.05 GWh of electricity in May, which is 1.4 % more than planned for the month.

In the first five months of the year, TPP Ugljevik was online for more than 2,326 hours, producing a total of 694.7 GWh of electricity in that period or 96.43 % of the planned amount.

In the first five months, TPP Ugljevik had two planned overhauls, as well as ten short unplanned outages, mostly due to pipe rupture in the boiler’s combustion chamber, which indicated that the complete piping system within the boiler has to be replaced soon.

RiTE Ugljevik recorded a net profit in the amount of some 180,000 euros in 2021, compared to a profit of 780,000 euros in 2020. The company’s operating revenues in 2021 increased by 5.7 % year-on-year and amounted to 77.2 million euros, while its operational expenditures rose by 7.8 % to 78 million euros.
