BiH: Electricity export amounted to 564 GWh in February

Gross electricity production in Bosnia and Hercegovina reached 1,292 GWh in February 2023, compared to 1,393 GWh in the same month last year, according to national Agency for Statistics.
Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 609 GWh in February 2023, which is by 16% higher than in the same month in 2022. Thermal production amounted to 577 GWh, which is 30% less than last February. Electricity production from renewable sources reached 39 GWh, the same as in February 2022.

In total gross electricity production hydropower plants participated with the share of 47%, thermal power plants with 50% and solar and wind power plants with 3%.

Electricity imports rose by 74% to 354 GWh in February from last year’s 204 GWh, while exports rose by 8% to 564 GWh (524 GWh in February 2022).
Production of lignite in BiH amounted to 380,000 tons in February 2023, which is by 22% less compared to the same month last year, while the production of brown coal increased by 10% and amounted to 541,000 tons.
Natural gas imports in February 2023 amounted to 26.08 million cubic meters, 16% less compared to a year before (31.12 million cubic meters).
