Another solar power plant is expected to be built on the Croatian islands

By the end of the year, another solar power plant is expected to be built on the Croatian islands.

According to data published by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the company Hudec Plan recently prepared an environmental protection plan to evaluate the need for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study for the 4.99 MW Veli Iz solar power plant.

The investor in the new solar power plant is state-owned power utility HEP.

The power plant will be built on the island of Veli Iz in the Zadar archipelago and will be connected to the distribution network at the Veli Iz substation, which is also planned in the conceptual design of the solar project.

The land plot for the facility covers 268,182 square meters, of which some 113,006 square meters are designated for the placement of solar panels.

Based on the mentioned environmental protection plan, the facility will consist of 10,010 photovoltaic modules with a nominal peak power of 605 W, which will be supplied by the local manufacturer Solvis.

This is a non-integrated solar power plant that will operate in parallel with the medium-voltage distribution network. The estimated electricity generation is approximately 8,562 MWh per year. The expected completion date is December 2023.
