The Albanian electricity exchange ALPEX reported that the total volume of electricity traded on the day-ahead market reached 135.6 GWh in June 2025. This represents an increase of 8.9 percent compared to the previous month and 31.3 percent more than in June 2024.

Out of the total traded volume, 89.8 GWh was allocated to the Kosovo bidding zone and 81 GWh to the Albania bidding zone. Both zones recorded an average market clearing price of 110.5 euros per MWh, which is a 20 percent rise compared to April and a 2 percent increase compared to June 2024.

The total value of transactions on ALPEX in June reached 32.3 million euros, marking a 26 percent year-on-year growth.

ALPEX was established by the Albanian electricity transmission system operator OST and its Kosovo counterpart KOSTT in October 2020. The first electricity auction for the Albanian market was held in April 2023. Currently, the exchange has 36 members operating within the Albania and Kosovo bidding zones.
