According to the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, electricity production in March 2025 dropped by 17.6% compared to February, reaching 3,472 GWh. Electricity consumption also fell by 18.3% to 2,943 GWh. Compared to March 2024, electricity production rose by 5%, while consumption declined by 1%.
Natural gas consumption in March 2025 was 261 million cubic meters, down 15.3% from February and 4.4% lower than in March 2024. Domestic production remained unchanged at 1 million cubic meters.
The production of unleaded petrol decreased by 90.6% to 11,000 tons, while its consumption declined by 25% to 42,000 tons. Diesel production dropped by 82.6% to 41,000 tons, with consumption down 7.6% to 218,000 tons. These reductions are largely attributed to scheduled refinery maintenance.
LPG consumption fell by 2.6% to 37,000 tons, while production plummeted by 87.5% to just 1,000 tons. Solid fuel production dropped by 48% to 1,347 thousand tons, with consumption down 46.6% to 1,406 thousand tons.
