Romania: CIS Group to build 23 MW solar power plant in Copsa Mica with €20 million investment

CIS Group has signed a contract to construct a solar power plant in Copsa Mica, with a total investment nearing €20 million. The facility is expected to become operational in early 2025 and will be financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, aimed at promoting investments in renewable energy sources.

With an installed capacity of 23 MW and a storage capacity of 4 MW, the new power plant will enhance the contribution of renewable sources to the national energy mix, reflecting CIS Group’s commitment to a low-carbon economy.

In line with its long-term strategy to reduce carbon emissions, CIS Group plans to continue developing new projects in the green energy sector. By the end of 2024, the company aims to launch a 50 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project near Targu Mures and initiate the construction of a 5 MW solar power plant with a 1 MW storage capacity near Reghin.
