Albania: Verbund to build first wind park in Albania

Belinda Baluku, Albanian Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, announced that a contract was signed with the Austrian company “Verbund AG” for the construction of the first wind park in Albania.

The contract was reached through the auction, which was completed in 2023.

Baluku added that soon the other two contracts will be signed, completing the maximum quota for RES auction.

According to the local media, the wind park is expected to start operating in 2025, with a capacity of 72.6 MW.
