Slovenia: Shell completed the takeover of petrol stations from MOL

The Slovenian subsidiary of Hungarian company MOL completed the sale of 39 petrol stations to Shell. MOL Slovenia announced that the handover of petrol stations, operated under the MOL and OMV brands so far, should begin in October.

Shell’s acquisition of this petrol stations was a condition for MOL to complete the acquisition of OMV Slovenia and its 119 petrol stations. Only in this way could MOL obtain the green light from the European Commission. The Competition Protection Agency approved Shell’s takeover of the mentioned services last week.

The Shell Group currently operates a network of nine petrol stations in Slovenia, of which eight are intended for trucks. The expansion will allow Shell to offer Slovenian customers access to quality products and services that have not been available on the Slovenian market so far, including Shell V-Power fuels and the Shell Cafe concept.
