EPCG broke the record, EUR 100 million profit in six months – Montenegrobusiness

Published on 14. July 2023., News

In the first six months of this year, EPCG made a profit of over 100 million euros, which is the largest amount the company has made since its establishment.
– The profit of EPCG this year is more than twice as high as the profit for the first half of the year in 2018, when about 43 million was realized. Following comparable periods, EPCG operated in 2011 with a loss of 10 million, in 2012 with a loss of 4 million, in 2017 with a loss of around 7 million euros. Thus, in 2020, the business result for this period was around 2 million, in 2019, 2016 and 2014 around 13 million, while in 2015 it was around 12 million euros. High-quality business decisions of the management and the Board of Directors, sound business vision, favorable hydrological conditions and good management in the period of the energy crisis caused the continuous progress and historical business results of the company – EPCG Director Nikola Rovčanin stated in the announcement.
All the results, he points out, were achieved without interventions from the budget of Montenegro and without increasing electricity prices for citizens.
– It is a unique example in the region and Europe, of which we are particularly proud – said Rovčanin.
He also pointed out that EPCG is one of the companies with low credit debt.
