Romania, E.ON Energie has built 68 solar power plants for 60 clients

E.ON Energie, the Romanian subsidiary of German energy company E.ON, said that, in 2022, it has built 68 solar power plants for 60 clients, worth some 11 million euros.

The statement from the company said that the combined annual electricity generation of all these power plants is 1,400 MWh. These consist of more than 34,000 solar panels, cover the area of some 57,000 square meters and will prevent some 300 tons in CO2 emissions per year.

The solar power plants have an expected lifespan of 25 years and the investors expect the return of investment in five to seven years.

CEO of E.ON Energie Romania Claudia Griech said that more than 150 solar project that the company completed in Romania so far generate about 36 GWh of electricity per year, thus reducing the country’s CO2 emissions by almost 8,000 tons per year.

E.ON Energie Romania is a distributor of natural gas, electricity and energy solutions, with a portfolio of approximately 3.4 million clients.
