Romania, Transgaz recorded a net profit in the amount of 56 million euros in the first nine months of 2022

Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz recorded a net profit in the amount of 56 million euros in the first nine months of 2022, which is by 144 % higher compared to the same period last year (22.8 million euros).

The increase is mostly due to increased revenues from interconnection capacity auctions. Operating revenues from domestic gas transmission rose by 17 % year-on-year to 194 million euros, while revenues prom international transmission dropped by 18 % to 10.3 million euros. Operating profit was 28 % higher year-on-year and amounted to 22.3 million euros, while operating costs before balancing and construction activity rose by 15 % to 204 million euros in the first nine months of the year.

Transgaz transported 102.2 million MWh of gas in January-September 2022 period, which is 9 % lower compared to the same period in 2021.

At group level, Transgaz recorded a net profit of 54.1 million euros in the first nine months of 2022, an increase of 152 % on the year. Transgaz Group includes parent company Transgaz, Moldovan subsidiary Eurotransgaz and Moldovan gas transmission company Vestmoldtransgaz.
