Romania, Electrica recorded a net loss in the amount of 36 million euros in H1 2022

Romanian electricity distributor and supplier Electrica recorded a net loss in the amount of 36 million euros in the first half of 2022, compared to a profit of 15.5 million euros in the same period last year.

The company’s revenues rose by 42 % year-on- year to 943 million euros in the first six months of the year. However, expenses for purchased electricity soared by 128 %, reaching 1.01 billion euros.

Electrica distributed a total of 8.986 TWh of electricity in the first half of 2022, a 2.3 % decrease compared to the first half of 2021.

Total assets of Electrica Group increased to 1.96 billion euros at the end of June, compared to 1.6 billion euros at the end of 2021.
