North Macedonia, Total electricity consumption in April amounted to 626,982 MWh

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in April 2022 amounted to 626,982 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 7.34 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 485,350 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 93,840 tons.

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 73.7 % of the consumed electricity in April was covered by domestic production, while 97.4 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in April 2022 stood at 430,650 MWh, which is by 36 % higher compared to the same month last year. 239,958 MWh or 55.7 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 24.3 % compared to April 2021), 172,484 MWh or 40.1 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 59.8 %), just 3,787 MWh or 0.9 % in CHP plants and 7,713 MWh or 1.79 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.

Production at biogas power plants reached 4,080 MWh, while solar power plants produced 2,627 MWh of electricity in April.
