Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gross electricity production in the country amounted to 1,560 GWh in November 2021

According to Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), gross electricity production in the country amounted to 1,560 GWh in November 2021, compared to 1,540 GWh in the same month last year.

In total gross electricity production hydropower plants participated with the share of 36.4 %, thermal power plants with 61.1 % and solar and wind power plants with 2.5 %.

Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 535 GWh in November 2021, which is by 15.8 % higher than in the same month in 2020. Thermal production amounted to 860 GWh, which is 10.4 % less than last November. Electricity production from renewable sources (wind and solar) reached 39 GWh, 143 % more than last year.

Electricity imports dropped by 33.1 % to 206 GWh in November from last year’s 308 GWh, while exports decreased by 14.2 % to 622 GWh (725 GWh in November 2020).

Production of lignite in BiH amounted to 654,000 tons in November 2021, which is by 4.9 % less compared to the same month last year, while the production of brown coal decreased by 9 % and amounted to 483,000 tons.

Natural gas imports in November 2021 amounted to 29.11 million cubic meters, 12.8 % more compared to a year before (25.8 million cubic
meters).
