Bulgaria, Production of electricity in August 2021 increased by 0.7 %

According to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, production of electricity in August 2021 increased by 0.7 %, compared to July, to 3,861 GWh, while consumption of electricity dropped by 0.8 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,748 GWh. Consumption of natural gas in August 2021 decreased by 24.3 % and amounted to 196 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same and amounted to 2 million cubic meters.

Compared to August 2020, production of electricity increased by 16.6 %, while its consumption rose by 7.8 %. Consumption of natural gas increased by 25.6 % compared to August 2020, while its production dropped by 60 %.

In August, production of unleaded petrol increased by 2.5 % and amounted to 124,000 tons, while its consumption increased by 2 % and amounted to 51,000 tons. Production of diesel in August increased by 14.7 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 242,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 4.8 % and amounted to 239,000 tons.

Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 17.1 % amounted to 41,000 tons, while its production increased by 37.5 % and amounted to 11,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels increased by 30.1 % to 2,573 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also rose by 30.3 % to 2,686 thousand tons.
