Croatia: Kom-Orjak-Greda wind farm acquired by Austrian Kelag

The wind farm is located in the municipality of Omis in southeastern Croatia. Austrian Kelag said that it has acquired 10.25 MW wind farm Kom-Orjak-Greda in Croatia from ECOwind, a subsidiary of German renewable energy developer BayWa r.e.

Commissioned in late 2018, the wind farm operates within the RES support scheme, with average annual electricity generation of some 25 GWh, enough to cover the demand of 7,000 households. Financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed. Managing Director of Kl-Kelag Bernd Neuner said that the excellent conditions and long-term electricity purchase contracts of the plant will help the company to make a lasting contribution to the energy transition in Croatia and Europe, while at the same time providing its customers with clean green energy.

In August, Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas announced that it has signed an agreement with Vjetroelektrana Orjak, Croatian subsidiary of Austrian company ECOwind and the operator of Kom-Orjak-Greda wind farm, for the maintenance of five Senvion MM92-2.05 wind turbines. The statement from the company said that 18-year maintenance agreement will take effect immediately.
