Slovenia: Renewable energy share reached 21.7 % in 2019 in final energy consumption

In 2019, the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption was 21.7 %, which is by 0.8 % higher than in the previous year, according to provisional data published by the Slovenian Statistical Office.

In the heating and cooling sector it increased by 0.1 % to 31.2 %, in the electricity sector it increased by 0.3 % to 32.6 % and in the transport sector it increased by 2.5 % to 8 %.

In 2020, the Statistical Office is revising the energy statistics data within which we have revised the entire time series of data on the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption. The biggest change in these data was made for the period from the beginning of monitoring of this indicator (from 2004 to 2008), which is a consequence of the improvement of the data on the use of renewable energy sources in households and the inclusion of new data sources for the 2000–2008 period.
