Romania: Increased average day-ahead OPCOM price

In September 2020 on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM, the average price of electricity amounted to 45.85 euros/MWh, which is 24.39 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 21.06 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 37.88 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in September reached 1.723 million MWh, which is 6.68 % less than in September 2019, and 6.99 % less than in August 2020. Average traded volume in September 2020 amounted to 2,393.2 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in September amounted to 80.03 million euros, which is by 31.85 % lower compared to September last year (117.44 million euros) and 12.53 % more than in the previous month (71.12 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in September 2020 amounted to 39.53 %. A total of 44,550.8 MWh was traded on intraday market in September (59.61 % more than in September 2019, and 13.84 % less compared to August 2020), with an average price of 47.9 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in September amounted to 1.097 million MWh, with an average price of 53.66 euros/MWh.
