Bosnia and Herzegovina: Tender for maintenance of Mesihovina wind farm

Tender for the provision of maintenance services for wind farm Mesihovina is launched by Bosnian power utility EP HZHB, the smallest of the country’s three utilities. The tender is worth some 4.8 million euros and the deadline for the submission of bids is 27 May.

The only wind farm in the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina – 50.6 MW Mesihovina produced more than 232 GWh of electricity since its commissioning in March 2018 until last November. The construction of Mesihovina wind farm helped EP HZHB to increase its overall electricity generation by 9 %. Mesihovina wind farm consists of 22 wind turbines with installed capacity of 50.6 MW. With expected average wind speed of 6 m/s, the wind farm should produce 165 GWh of electricity per year, which will increase EPHZHB’s annual output by 10 %. The foundation stone for the wind farm Mesihovina was laid down in September 2010. The project will be funded by 72 million euros loan provided by KfW Bank (loan agreement signed in February 2010) and by 6 million euros provided by EP HZHB itself.
