Slovenia: RES projects support

Support for electricity production from renewable sources and high-efficiency cogeneration amounting ten million euros is prepared in Slovenia.

The Slovenian Energy Agency is accepting applications until 10 September for state incentives for projects for electricity production from renewable sources and high-efficiency cogeneration – combined production of electricity and heat. Slovenia has already announced its seventh public call for support for green energy, worth 10 million euros.

The tender will select projects for the construction of new or reconstruction of existing plants. The sixth call, for the same amount, was published in December 2019 and was concluded in April 2020 with 32 plants with a total capacity of 13.1 MW. Of these, 12 were CHP fossil fuel systems with nearly 8 MW in total. There were 51 applicants at the previous public call. In comparison, 19 projects were selected at the fifth call which concluded in November 2019 and ten million euros were also distributed. These projects has a total capacity of 26.7 MW, of which 25.9 MW in 13 cogeneration systems that use fossil fuels.

Investors and individuals must enclose building permits with their application. If the project is selected, they are required to submit guarantees or a deposit equivalent to two % of the investment value of the project within one month.
