Slovenia, Net electricity generation in October 2021 decreased by 33 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in October 2021 decreased by 33 % compared to the same month last year.

In October 2021, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,153 GWh, which is 10 % more than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,186 GWh, which is a 9 % increase compared to September, while 1 % less electricity was consumed in October 2020. In October, production in thermal power plants decreased by 31 % compared to the same month in 2020, production in hydropower plants decreased by 61 %, while NPP Krsko produced 2 % less electricity compared to the same month last year. In October 2021, Slovenia imported 851 GWh (78 % more compared to October 2020) of electricity and exported 783 GWh (- 22 %).

Supply of energy commodities in general went up in October, except from the supply of petrol which dropped by 10 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of natural gas (52 %) was recorded, as well as heating oil (31 %), lignite and brown coal (22 %), LPG (21 %), kerosene (20 %), other petroleum products (18 %) and hard coal (13 %).

Compared to October 2020, the supply of kerosene increased by 156 %, heating oil by 99 %, petrol by 23, diesel by 12 % % and other petroleum products by 5 %.
