Slovenia, Net electricity generation in January 2023 decreased by 1 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in January 2023 decreased by 1 % compared to the same month last year.

In January 2023, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,214 GWh, which is 2 % more than in the previous month.

In January, production in thermal power plants decreased by 36 % compared to the same month in 2022, production in hydropower plants increased by 26 %, while the production at NPP Krsko was 2 % higher.

In January 2023, Slovenia imported 964 GWh (18 % more compared to January 2022) of electricity and exported 866 GWh (+ 27 %).

In January 2023, households consumed 367 GWh of electricity, while the consumption of commercial consumers amounted to 635 GWh.

Supply of energy commodities in general went down in January, except from the supply of coke which rose by 16 %, natural gas by 15 %, petrol by3% and hard coal by2 %.Comparedtothe previous month, a decrease in supply of other petroleum products (68 %) was recorded, as well as heating oil (28 %), LPG (10 %), kerosene (5 %) and diesel (1 %).

Compared to January 2022, the supply of lignite and brown coal decreased by 46 %, kerosene by 37 %, hard coal by 20 %, heating oil by 19 %, natural gas by 18 % and coke by 7 %.
