Slovenia: Largest solar power plant begins commercial operations in Krvavi Potok

Slovenia’s largest solar power plant, covering approximately seven hectares, officially began commercial operations at the start of July.

Located in the settlement of Krvavi Potok in the Hrpelje-Kozina municipality, the facility was developed by Moja Elektrarna, a subsidiary of Austrian company PV-Invest. The plant is expected to generate around 8,400 MWh of electricity annually, enough to meet the yearly energy needs of about 2,400 households.

The solar power plant has a nameplate capacity of 7 MW, with a grid export limit of 4.99 MW. It consists of 12,888 solar panels, each rated at 550 W.

Initial testing began on 1 April, followed by the official start of commercial operations on 1 July. The operator aims to obtain the formal operating permit by the end of August or, at the latest, September.
