Slovenia: Increased trade on BSP in May

Compared to the previous month, with an average of 19,309 MWh/day, electricity trade increased by 5.5% as a total of 598,567 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market on the Slovenian energy exchange BSP Southpool in May 2020.

Traded volume was 10.4 % lower compared to May 2019. Average daily base price on day-ahead market in May amounted to 21.24 euros/MWh, which is a 10.6 % decrease compared to April, while average euro-peak price reached 21.72 euros/MWh (- 9.8 %). Regarding intraday auctions, a total of 114,499 MWh was traded on implicit intraday auction in May 2019, od which 78,690 on the continuous market (+ 9.4 %), with an average price of 24.62 euros/MWh (MI2) and 25.27 euros/MWh (MI6).
