Slovenia: Government will launch a 150 million euros RES support tender

Slovenia will launch a public tender in September for the financing of the support scheme for renewable energy and energy storage projects. The 150 million euros worth tender will be open to projects involving the production of electricity and heat from renewable energy facilities and energy storage installations, Slovenian Government announced.

Direct grants will be limited to 25 million euros per project. The support will be distributed by 31 December 2025. The support scheme will finance the electricity production of hydropower, solar and geothermal plants of between 1 MW and 6 MW in size, provided that the capacity is fully owned by small and medium-sized enterprises. Wind projects of between 1 MW and 18 MW will be also eligible, again if their owner is a SME. Cogeneration, biomass and biogas projects will also be included.

Slovenia has set a target of making renewable energy account for 27% of its total gross final energy consumption by 2030.
