Slovenia: Energy prices in Q1 2025 show decreases for households and increases for industry

According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, the average energy prices for households and industrial consumers in the first quarter of 2025 showed mixed trends. For households, the price of electricity stood at €0.189 per kWh, which represents a 12% decrease compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. Similarly, the price of natural gas for households decreased by 3%, reaching €0.091 per kWh during the same period.

In contrast, industrial consumers experienced a rise in energy prices. The average electricity price for industrial consumers in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to €0.18 per kWh, which is a 7% increase compared to the previous quarter. The price of natural gas for industrial consumers saw a more significant increase, rising by 13% to €0.057 per kWh compared to the fourth quarter of 2024.

When compared to the EU average for the first half of 2024, household natural gas prices in Slovenia, including taxes, represented 88% of the EU-27 average. For non-household consumers, the price of natural gas without VAT was 94% of the EU-27 average. These comparisons show that Slovenia’s energy prices remain relatively close to the EU average, with fluctuations depending on the type of consumer and energy source.
