Slovenia: Electricity production reached 1.4 TWh in August

Net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,429 GWh in August, 1% more than in July, according to the data from the Statistical Office. Net electricity generation in August increased by 42% compared to the same month last year.

Production in thermal power plants increased by 6% compared to the same month in 2022, production in hydropower plants increased by 175%, while the production at NPP Krsko was 5% higher.

In August 2023, Slovenia imported 479 GWh of electricity and exported 981 GWh.

Households consumed 233 GWh of electricity, 3% more compared to the previous month, while the consumption of commercial consumers amounted to 559 GWh (- 6%).

Slovenia: Electricity and gas prices increased in Q2

Slovenian households were paying 0.194 euros per kWh of electricity and 0.099 euros per kWh of natural gas in the second quarter of 2023, according to data from the Statistical Office.

Compared to the first quarter, electricity prices increased by 7%, while gas prices rose by 2%. The average electricity price for industrial consumers in the second quarter of 2023 amounted to 0.216 euros/kWh without VAT, which is a 4% decrease compared to the previous quarter.

Natural gas prices for industrial consumers in Slovenia decreased by 28% compared to the first quarter of 2023 and amounted to 0.06 euros/kWh without VAT.
