In December 2020 Slovenia’s net electricity generation decreased by 1 % compared to the same month last year, according to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia. In December 2020, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,456 GWh, which is 3 % more than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,224 GWh, which is a 3 % increase compared to November 2020, and 1 % lower compared to December 2019. In December, production in thermal power plants increased by 13 % compared to the same month in 2019, production in hydropower plants decreased by 6 %, while production at NPP Krsko was 5 % lower. In December 2020, Slovenia imported 533 GWh (- 12 % compared to December 2019) of electricity and exported 746 GWh (- 9 %). Supply of energy commodities in general went up in December, except from the supply of other petroleum products which dropped by 45 %, lignite and brown coal by 7 % and diesel by 5 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of hard coal (55 %) was recorded, as well as heating oil (34 %), LPG (31 %) and petrol (11 %). Compared to December 2019, the supply of petrol decreased by 41 %, heating oil by 26 %, diesel by 22 %, other petroleum products by 9 %, LPG by 7 % and coke by 6 %.
