Slovenia, Country’s net electricity generation in September decreased by 28 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in September 2021 decreased by 28 % compared to the same month last year.

In September 2021, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 998 GWh, which is 25 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,035 GWh, which is a 2 % decrease compared to August, while 6 % more electricity was consumed in September 2020. In September, production in thermal power plants decreased by 36 % compared to the same month in 2020, production in hydropower plants decreased by 52 %, while NPP Krsko produced 2 % less electricity compared to the same month last year. In September 2021, Slovenia imported 810 GWh (55 % more compared to September 2020) of electricity and exported 750 GWh (- 5 %).

Supply of energy commodities in general went up in September, except from the supply of lignite and brown coal which dropped by 22 %, petrol by 11 % and kerosene by 5 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of heating oil (104 %) was recorded, as well as other petroleum products (32 %), hard coal (24 %), LPG (23 %) and natural gas (9 %).

Compared to September 2020, the supply of heating oil increased by 97 %, kerosene by 61 %, other petroleum products by 24 % and petrol by 6 %.
