Slovenia, Country’s net electricity generation in July 2021 decreased by 21 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in July 2021 decreased by 21 % compared to the same month last year.

In July 2021, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,146 GWh, which is 9 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,097 GWh, which is a 1 % increase compared to June, while 2 % less electricity was consumed in July 2020. In July, production in thermal power plants decreased by 60 % compared to the same month in 2020, production in hydropower plants decreased by 6 %, while NPP Krsko produced 1 % less electricity compared to the same month last year. In July 2021, Slovenia imported 659 GWh (9 % more compared to July 2020) of electricity and exported 675 GWh (- 29 %)

Supply of energy commodities in general went up in July, except from the supply of heating oil which fell by 21 % and natural gas by 10 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of lignite and brown coal (27 %) was recorded, as well as kerosene (25 %), LPG (18 %), coke (13 %), other petroleum products (11 %) and diesel (7 %).

Compared to July 2020, the supply of lignite and brown coal decreased by 49 %, LPG by 12 %, natural gas by 6 %, hard coal by 4 % and coke by 3 %.
