Slovenia, Country’s net electricity generation in February 2022 decreased by 20 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in February 2022 decreased by 20 % compared to the same month last year.

In February 2022, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,051 GWh, which is 14 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption was 13 % lower compared to January and 1 % higher compared to February 2021. In February, production in thermal power plants increased by 2 % compared to the same month in 2021, production in hydropower plants decreased by 58 %, while NPP Krsko produced 1 % less electricity compared to the same month last year. In February 2022, Slovenia imported 825 GWh (24 % more compared to February 2020) of electricity and exported 688 GWh (- 14 %).

Supply of energy commodities in general went down in February, except from the supply of hard coal which rose by 7 %, heating oil by 3 % and LPG 2 %. Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of other petroleum products (48 %) was recorded, as well as kerosene (48 %), natural gas (20 %), lignite and brown coal (16 %), coke (3 %) and heating oil (2 %).

Compared to February 2021, the supply of petrol increased by 37 %, heating oil by 31 %, coke by 17 %, kerosene by 14 %, diesel by 11 % and LPG by 9 %.
