Slovenia, Country’s net electricity generation in December 2021 decreased by 16 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in December 2021 decreased by 16 % compared to the same month last year.

In December 2021, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,238 GWh, which is 1 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption was 7 % higher compared to November and 6 % higher compared to December 2020. In December, production in thermal power plants decreased by 9 % compared to the same month in 2020, production in hydropower plants decreased by 41 %, while NPP Krsko produced 6 % more electricity compared to the same month last year. In December 2021, Slovenia imported 791 GWh (43 % more compared to December 2020) of electricity and exported 688 GWh (- 8 %).

Supply of energy commodities in general went up in December, except from the supply of hard coal which dropped by 57 %, other petroleum products by 29 % and coke 25 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of heating oil (42 %) was recorded, as well as lignite and brown coal (34 %), LPG (21 %), natural gas (18 %), kerosene (18 %) and diesel (9 %).

Compared to December 2020, the supply of heating oil increased by 55 %, petrol by 49 %, diesel by 35 %, lignite and brown coal by 9 % and natural gas by 7 %.
