Slovenia, Country’s net electricity generation in April 2022 increased by 45 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in April 2022 increased by 45 % compared to the same month last year. The high increase is due to NPP Krsko overhaul last April.

In April 2022, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,096 GWh, which is 10 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption was 13 % lower compared to February and 3 % lower compared to April 2021. In April, production in thermal power plants decreased by 25 % compared to the same month in 2021, production in hydropower plants decreased by 19 %, while NPP Krsko was offline last April. In April 2022, Slovenia imported 767 GWh (17 % less compared to April 2020) of electricity and exported 731 GWh (+ 40 %).

Supply of energy commodities in general went down in April, except from the supply of other petroleum products which rose by 10 % and diesel by 7 %. Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of kerosene (70 %) was recorded, as well as heating oil (55 %), hard coal (35 %), natural gas (25 %), LPG (25 %), diesel (34 %), lignite and brown coal (14 %), coke (14 %) and petrol (3 %).

Compared to April 2021, the supply of kerosene increased by 188 %, diesel by 46 %, coke by 24 %, petrol by 23 %, heating oil by 10 % and lignite and brown coal by 9 %.
