Serbia: Tender for permitting services for new TPP Kostolac unit launched

EPS has launched a tender for the services of obtaining an integrated permit for the construction of coal-fired thermal unit B3 at the site of the existing TPP Kostolac. The tender is worth 130,000 euros. The deadline for the submission of bids is 22 September.

The works on the construction of the new 350 MW unit B3 are in progress and nearing completion. The construction of the new unit began in 2016 and the works are expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The works on the construction of the new unit and the expansion of the Drmno coalmine, are carried out in line with the technical specifications of the Chinese company CMEC as the main contractor.

The integrated permit is issued for the operation of new facilities and their activities, and no new facility can start working without the integrated permit. The permit is issued for a period which cannot be longer than 10 years.
