Serbia: New 9 green megawatts connected to the grid

The Slovenian energy company RUDIS connected the Alibunar 1 wind power plant, with a capacity of 9 MW, to the distribution network and delivered the first MWh of electricity produced to the power network.

According to the company, the power plant will produce 27 to 29 GWh of electricity per year, which is enough to supply 6,000 households.

At the beginning of 2022, RUDIS bought the company Balkan Electric doo Vršac in Serbia. The company had a building permit for the construction of the Alibunar 1 wind farm with three wind turbines with a nominal power of 3 MW each.

Wind turbines type VD164-3300 were delivered by the Chinese company Zhejiang Vindei Co. Ltd. the sixth largest producer of wind turbines in the world.

The expected power of one wind turbine is 3.3 MW.

The wind turbines are connected to the existing 20 kV substation “Alibunar mini”, about 1,000 meters away, via a common MV switchgear and cables.

The value of the investment is EUR 15.5 million. The investment was large – 75% financed based on a loan with a maturity of 15 years from Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d. Ljubljana, and the participation of the company RUDIS amounts to 25% of the investment value.

All energy produced from the wind farm is purchased by PLC Interenergo d.o.o. Belgrade based on a long-term contract on the purchase of electricity, according to the company RUDIS.
