Serbia negotiates purchase of natural gas from Azerbaijan

Serbis is negotiating to import between 300 and 400 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan, President Aleksandar Vucic said.

He added that the construction of gas interconnection with Bulgaria will be completed for the winter season. It will enable the supply of gas from the Caspian region via Turkey and Bulgaria.

Serbia has around 620 million cubic meters of gas stored in Banatski Dvor and storages in Hungary. In early 2023, Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy confirmed that Serbia is currently negotiating with partners from Azerbaijan about the quantities and the prices of natural gas it will be receiving through the gas interconnection between Serbia and Bulgaria.
