Serbia: Lager acquired a majority stake in a 300 MW wind project

Bosnian building materials group Lager has bought an 85% stake in the company behind a 300 MW wind park project in Serbia, according to an official filing with the Serbian Business Registers Agency, renewablesnow.com reports.

The majority interest in the Snaga Istoka project, set to create the largest wind complex in the region, was bought as part of Lager’s plan to become one of the leading renewable power producers in the area. The value of the transaction was kept under wraps.

The remaining 15% stake in the project is held by private individuals Igor Zivkovic and Dejan Vuksanovic, each holding a 7.5% stake.

To be installed in the eastern municipality of Bar, the Snaga Istoka wind farm will be installed for EUR 360 million, local media reports. Supposedly, the scheme is undergoing a process to secure network-connection approval from Serbia’s transmission system operator Elektromreza Srbije (EMS), with construction expected to be launched as soon as late 2025.
