Serbia, EPS will increase the price of electricity supplied to commercial customers to 120 euros/MWh

Following the media reports that state-owned power utility EPS will increase the price of electricity supplied to commercial customers to 120 euros/MWh, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic refuted those claims, adding that the price will remain at 95 euros/MWh, which is the lowest in Europe.

PM Brnabic said that, although the price of electricity on the market is several times higher at the moment, the state will continue to subsidize the price of electricity for commercial consumers in order to keep Serbian economy competitive.

Regarding reports that mazut stocks are low, she said that Serbia currently has some 150,000 tons of mazut and additional 30,000 tons will be imported soon, adding that there should be no problems with district heating systems during the winter.
