In May 2025, a total of 503,321.1 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Serbian energy exchange SEEPEX, marking a 0.7% increase compared to April. The average daily traded volume stood at 16,236.2 MWh. Compared to May 2024, the traded volume was 26.7% higher.
The average daily base price on the day-ahead market in May reached 89.06 euros/MWh, up 2.8% from the previous month. The average euro-peak price was 66.27 euros/MWh, representing a slight decrease of 1.2%.
SEEPEX was officially launched on 17 February 2016 with an initial traded volume of 1,925 MWh. The exchange is jointly owned by the Serbian electricity transmission system operator EMS and the European Power Exchange (EPEX SPOT). Its goal is to foster the development of a competitive, transparent, and reliable electricity market in Serbia and Southeast Europe, thereby significantly increasing electricity trading volumes in the region.
An intraday market was introduced in July 2023 to complement the day-ahead market.
