Serbia and Azerbaijan sign agreement on energy and mining cooperation

The Governments of Serbia and Azerbaijan have signed a cooperation agreement focused on energy and mining, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in these sectors. The agreement outlines joint activities to promote cooperation and business relations, based on national legislation and the principles of mutual benefit.

In the energy sector, the agreement encourages investments from both countries, particularly in natural gas and renewable energy. Serbia and Azerbaijan will share information on energy regulations, exchange experiences on cutting-edge technologies, and discuss energy projects. One of the key goals is to explore opportunities for supplying Serbia with natural gas from Azerbaijan. Both nations will also work together to enhance energy efficiency, expand renewable energy sources, and foster joint ventures in the energy field. Additionally, they will continue to support the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor.

In the mining sector, the two countries will focus on encouraging investments in mineral resource exploration and fostering collaboration between businesses and institutions on geological research. They will also exchange information regarding regulations in geology and mining.

The agreement is set to remain valid for five years.
