SEE Region, Strong increase in spot prices on Monday to 141 to 153 euros per MWh

Spot electricity prices in the region for delivery on Monday March 6 rose by 17 to 23 percent compared to Sunday, except in Greece, where the increase was only about 5 percent. They ranged from 141 euros per MWh in Serbia to 152.81 euros per MWh in Hungary.

Serbia recorded the lowest price in the region on Monday – 140.94 euros per MWh. That is 17 percent more than on Sunday.

The Bulgarian and Romanian spot price increased by 19 percent compared to the previous day, to 142.38 euros per MWh.

Greece recorded a moderate increase in the spot price on Monday of around 5 percent, to 142.65 euros per MWh. Thanks to the fact that the spot prices in other countries have risen significantly, the Greek market on Monday, unlike Sunday, is not the most expensive in the region.

The Croatian, Slovenian and Hungarian day-ahead market on Monday recorded prices of 151-152 euros per MWh. Prices on these markets have increased by about 20 percent compared to the previous day.

Spot prices on weekends are, as a rule, lower than during the working week. They ranged from 119 to 127 euros per MWh in the region on Saturday and Sunday.
