SEE region: Spot prices in the week 35 range from 108 to 123 euros per MWh

The spot prices of electricity in Southeast Europe in the week 35 (August 28 – September 3) recorded a moderate decrease compared to the previous week, due to the drop in gas prices on European exchanges and a slight drop in the price of EU ETS emission permits to 84-85 euros per ton.

Average weekly wholesale electricity prices ranged from 107.9 euros per MWh in Bulgaria and Romania to 123.4 euros per MWh in Greece. In all countries of the region, prices fell by 10 to 20% compared to the last week of August.

The Greek market was the most expensive in the region, although it recorded a drop of about 10 percent compared to the week 34. In Serbia, the spot price fell by 19% in the same period, to around 109 euros per MWh, and in Croatia by 16%, to 110.9 euros per MWh.

In Hungary, the average weekly price of electricity in the week 35 was 119.1 euros per MWh.
