SEE region: Electricity prices ranged between 44 and 76 euros/MWh in week 14

In week 14 European electricity market prices decreased compared to week 13, by 13% on average due to lower electricity demand, as Europe experienced unprecedented heat during the first week of April.

In the SEE region, electricity prices on the exchanges fell in all of the markets. Croatia and Hungary registered the highest percentage decreases by 18% and 20%, followed by Italy which registered 17% lower electricity prices.

All countries registered electricity price losses, with electricity prices trading below 60 euros/MWh, except Italy. Electricity prices ranged between 44 and 76 euros/MWh.

Croatia recorded the lowest wholesale electricity price of 43.7 euros/MWh, followed by Romania which recorded an electricity price of 45.24 euros/MWh. The Italian market registered the highest average price during week 14, with an average of 75.78 euros/MW. It was followed by Turkey with a weekly average of 57.27 euros/MWh.

Weekly average spot electricity prices in Central Europe followed a downward trend during week 14. Electricity markets in Central Europe posted prices between 10-49 euros/MWh. Switzerland was the country with the highest electricity price at 49.01 euros/MWh, while France recorded the lowest price at 9.88 euros/MWh.
