Romania, Transgaz recorded a net profit in the amount of 38 million euros

Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz recorded a net profit in the amount of 38 million euros, which is 31 % higher compared to the same period last year.

The company’s operating profit dropped by 23 % year-on-year to 43.2 million euros, while operating revenues were flat on the year at 144 million euros in the first six months of 2022. On the other hand, operating costs rose by 17 % on the year to 136.5 million euros.

In the first half of the year, Transgaz transported 70.7 million MWh of gas, 11 % lower than in the first half of 2021.

At group level, Transgaz recorded a net profit of 36.3 million euros in the first half of 2022, which is an annual increase of 33 %. Transgaz Group includes parent company Transgaz, Moldovan subsidiary Eurotransgaz and Moldovan gas transmission company Vestmoldtransgaz.

The Romanian state owns 58.5 % stake in Transgaz, with the remainder in free float on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
