Romania: Three wind farm projects sold by German PNE

PNE is a German company based in Cuxhaven which develops wind farms on land and at sea, also active in photovoltaics, electricity storage and clean electricity supply. The company opened a subsidiary in Romania in 2008.

German wind developer PNE said that it has sold the rights to three wind farm projects in Romania to an unnamed global renewable energy company for an undisclosed price.

The statement from the company said that wind turbines, with a nominal output of up to 220 MW, can be built as part of the three projects. PNE CEO Markus Lesser said that he is pleased that the company managed to find a very experienced and strong buyer for its Romanian wind farm projects, adding that it will work together with the buyer on further project development until implementation. According to him, PNE will now focus on developing solar projects in Romania.

PNE and the investor will cooperate in the further development of the projects further up to the financing decision for the construction. The investor will be responsible for the financing, construction and subsequent operation of the wind farms.
