Romania, The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the OPCOM amounted to 188.51 euros/MWh in February

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 188.51 euros/MWh in February 2022, which is 291.98 % higher compared to the same month in 2021 and 1.82 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 192 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in February reached 2.28 million MWh, which is 1.24 % more than in February 2021, and 12.91 % less than in January 2022. Average traded volume in February 2022 amounted to 3,396.5 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in February amounted to 436.5 million euros, which is by 290.6 % more compared to February last year (111.8 million euros) and 15.87 % less than in the previous month (518.8 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in February 2021 amounted to 49.95 %.

A total of 95,606.4 MWh was traded on intraday market in February (55.83 % more than in February 2021, and 5.07 % less compared to January 2022, with an average price of 179.24 euros/MWh (266.37 % higher compared to February 2021 and 12.55 % lower compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in February amounted to 1.421 million MWh, with an average price of 104.66 euros/MWh.
